George Raft was a legendary American actor and dancer who is widely considered as one of his generation's most fashionable Hollywood stars. He was best remembered for his roles as gangsters in crime drama films throughout the 1930s and 1940s.
A remarkable actor in dozens of films, he commenced his professional career as a dancer after leaving school at the age of 12 and receiving dance training from his mother. He was hell-bent on establishing himself as a successful dancer and actor. Later, after entering the Broadway scene to pursue his dream of becoming an actor, he carved his path to Hollywood films.
He made his cinematic debut in the musical drama “Queen of the Night Clubs,” and came to fame after playing Guino Rinaldo in the film "Scarface." He acquired enormous recognition and celebrity status as a result of his success. Additionally, he went on to feature in other prominent on-screen productions like "Spawn of the North," "The Man with Bogart's Face," "Two Guys Abroad," and "The Ladies Man."
