Hailing from the United States of America, George Will is a journalist, TV personality, and writer. He has been widely recognized as one of the most influential American writers. He is one of the most widely read authors in the world. Will was named as the most powerful American journalist in 1986, by The Wall Street Journal. He has been a lecturer at Harvard University, James Madison College, and the University of Toronto.
As a writer, his works include “The Pursuit of Happiness and Other Sobering Thoughts” in 1978 and “American Happiness and Discontents” in 2021.
He was educated at University Laboratory High School, Trinity College, Magdalen College, and Princeton University.
He is the son of Frederick L. Will and Louise Hendrickson. In 1967, he got married to Madeleine but divorced her in 1989. Two years later, he remarried Mari Maseng. His four children are David Will, Jonathan Will, Geoffrey Will, and Victoria Will.
He was the winner of the 1977 Pulitzer Prize for Commentary. The following year, he won the Headliner Award for “consistently outstanding feature columns”. In 1980 and 1991, he won the Silurian Award for “editorial writing”. Again, he was the recipient of the Walter Cronkite Award for “Excellence in Journalism” in 1991.
Additionally, he won the 2005 Bradley Prize from the Bradley Foundation. He also received the 2006 Champion of Liberty Award from the Goldwater Institute.
