About Gertrude Stein
Gertrude Stein was an American novelist, poet, and playwright.
Her Work
Gertrude Stein's first famous work, Three Lives, was released in 1909. This was written mainly about her prior experiences at college. A few years later, she finished another novel titled The Making of Americans, but it was not received well by critics at the time. In 1914, Stein released Tender Buttons, which some psychologists, including B.F. Sknner, considered to be an example of normal motor automatism. Later, in 1933, released The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas. This book is considered more accessible than Stein's other work, and it helped find her fame.
