About Ginger Baker
Ginger Baker was an outstanding English drummer, famous for being one of the founding members of the British rock supergroup Cream who are known for such hits as White Room, I Feel Free and Sunshine of Your Love. He is regarded by many as one of the greatest drummers of all time.
Achievements
In 2016, he was placed at the 3rd position on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Greatest Drummers of All Time.
In 1993, he and Cream band members, Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce, were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Rolling Stone also included the group in their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
Trivia
In 2008, he was defrauded out of $60,000 by a South African female bank clerk who claimed to be his lover. The woman was later convicted of fraud in 2010.
He once drove across the Sahara desert from Algeria to Nigeria, where he met with legendary Nigerian musician Fela Kuti to make music.
