Gloria Allred has been described as one of the most influential human rights lawyers in the United States. Her attempts to protect the rights of women in the country have won her lots of admirers. Throughout her practice, which has spanned for more than 40 years, Allred has been involved in many high-profile legal cases such as the “Yeaw v. Boy Scouts of America”.
She has also represented clients against some famous celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Anthony Weiner and David Boreanaz. In 2006, she published a book titled “Fight Back and Win: My Thirty-Year Fight Against Injustice and How You Can Win Your Own Battles”.
Family
She was born to Stella and her husband Morris who was a salesman. In 1960, she got married to Peyton Huddleston Bray Jr., but they divorced after two years. Until 1987, she was the wife of William Allred.
Education
Gloria completed Philadelphia High School for Girls before enrolling at the University of Pennsylvania. She also studied at Loyola Marymount University, New York University, and Southwestern Law School.
Honors
This lawyer has been selected into the prestigious National Women's Hall of Fame.
