About Graham Rowntree
English-born former rugby player Graham Christopher Rowntree was capped more than 50 times by his country, from 1995 to 2006. He also made a few appearances for the British & Irish Lions.
After he hung up his boots, he ventured into coaching and served in different capacities in the coaching staff of teams such as Leicester Tigers, Georgia, and Munster. He also had a few spells coaching England and the British & Irish Lions teams.
Early Life
Rowntree lived out his early years in England and attended John Cleveland College, where he continued to hone his talents in rugby. He was scouted after his graduation to play professionally in 1990.
Career
Rowntree made his professional debut in 1990 while playing for Leicester Tigers from 1990 to 2007. He later went on to play on the national level for England from 1995 to 2006 and the British & Irish Lions from in 1997 and in 2005. Rowntree also delved into the coaching world and managed numerous teams, such as Leicester Tigers as their assistant coach from 2007 to 2008, Harlequins from 2016 to 2018, and Georgia from 2018 to 2019.
In 2022, he was appointed the head coach of Munster.
