About Greg Maddux
Greg Maddux goes into the history books as one of the best pitchers to ever star in Major League Baseball. He was drafted into the league by the Chicago Cubs in 1986 and spent over two decades in the competition.
Throughout his stay in the league, he featured for other prominent teams like the Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, and the San Diego Padres. He was a member of the Braves team that won the World Series in 1995.
After retirement
The American baseball legend has also worked as a special aide to the general managers of Texas Rangers, and the Cubs. In 2013, he was named as one of the coaches of the United States team at the World Baseball Classic.
In 2016, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas appointed him as a deputy coach.
Family
He’s the junior brother of baseball legend Michael Ausley Maddux. His children with Kathy are called Chase Maddux and Paige Maddux.
Education
During his time at Valley High School he played baseball.
Achievements
Throughout his career in the MLB, he won the Gold Gloves 18 times. Maddux won the Cy Young Award four times in a row, becoming the first MLB pitcher to achieve that feat. He was inducted into the prestigious Baseball Hall of Fame in 2016.
