As an entertainer, Gus Trikonis has done it all, from dancing to directing. He was a terrific director of hilariously low-budget, exploitation-themed drive-in movies from the 1970s. He was best known for playing Indio in the wildly popular movie "West Side Story."

The New Yorker was married to Goldie Hawn from 1969 -1974 and then to costume designer Barbara Andrews from 1978 until her death in 2012. They had one child together.
Career
In Broadway musicals and motion pictures, he made his acting and dancing debuts. He made his directing debut with the film “Five the Hard Way”(1969). His biggest triumph came with the comedy “Take This Job and Shove It” (1981). The film starred Robert Hays, Barbara Hershey, and Art Carney.
Trikonis mostly directed television shows from the 1980s until the mid-1990s. Among the television shows he directed were episodes of “Baywatch”, “Hercules; The Legendary Journeys”, “Quantum Leap” and “Wiseguy”.
