About Hachikō
Hachikō was a Japanese dog. He was an Akita dog and he became famous for his loyalty to his owner, which actually continued for many years after his owner's death. He waited for him to return for over 9 years!
His Personal Life
He was born in 1923 and he died in 1935 in Tokyo. His owner was agricultural scientist, Hidesaburō Ueno.
Fun Facts
Many films have been based on Hachikō's story, such as the American adaptation of the Japanese film "Hachiko Monogatari" by director Lasse Hallström. The 2009 film, "Hachi: A Dog's Tale", which starred actor Richard Gere.
