About Hafiz Muhammad Saeed
Hafiz Muhammad Saeed is a Pakistani Islamist militant who has been a wanted terrorist in India for more than a decade. Recognized as a co-founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a terrorist organization that operates from Pakistan against India, he has been accused of his involvement in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. He was put on the National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India’s Most Wanted List and in 2012, a $10 million bounty was put on his head by the United States. LeT has been banned alongside his other organization, Jama’at-ud-Da’wah (JuD) in India, the UK, the US, the EU, Australia and Russia.
Family Life
His father’s name was Maulana Kamal-ud-Din Gujjar. The latter was a religious scholar and farmer. He has been married to a woman called Maimoona.
Arrest and Imprisonment
He was arrested in July 2019, tried and sentenced to a total of more than 20 years in several anti-terrorism courts in Pakistan for his terrorism-financing charges.
