About Hamit Altıntop
Hamit Altıntop is a Turkish retired professional footballer who spent the entirety of his club career in Europe. He began his senior club career in 2000 in Germany with the club Wattenscheid.
He excelled with the clubs Schalke 04 (2003-2007), Bayern Munich (2007-2011) and Galatasaray (2012-2017). He also appeared in a few matches for Real Madrid (2011-2012) and retired with Darmstadt 98 (2017-2018).
He represented the Turkish senior national team in international tournaments from 2004 to 2014.
Personal Life
He played with his twin brother, Halil, as teammates of Schalke 04 in the 2006/2007 season. He tied the knot with a woman named Feyza Veli in 2014.
Achievements
He was given the FIFA Puskas Award in 2010. Two years prior, he had been named into the UEFA European Championship’s “Team of the Tournament”.
