About Hans Küng
Hans Küng was a prolific Swiss Catholic author and priest who gained popularity for his enormous work in the Roman Catholic scene. He was ordained as a priest in 1954, and performed his first Mass at St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. As an author, he has written a number of literatures with the most popular ones titled "That the World May Believe" (1963), "Justification: The Doctrine of Karl Barth and a Catholic Reflection" (1964), and "Art and the Question of Meaning" (1980).
He became the President of the Foundation for a Global Ethic (Stiftung Weltethos) in 1995. After having recorded several achievements, he died in April 2021 at the age of 93.

His parents were Hans Küng and Emma Gut. He had six siblings.
Achievements
He earned the Swiss Culture Prize in 1991, the Karl Barth prize in 1992, and the Theodor Heuss Foundation prize in 1998. He was also the recipient of the Federation of Lutheran Cities prize in 1999.
In 2005, he was honored with the Niwano Peace Prize, as well as, the Baden-Württemberg medal. He landed the German freemasonry cultural prize, and the Honorary Citizen of the City of Tübingen in 2007.
In 2008, Hans received the Honor for Civil Courage by the circle of friends Heinrich Heine (Düsseldorf) and the Otto Hahn Peace Medal in Gold from the United Nations Association of Germany (DGVN) in Berlin.
Trivia
He was awarded a doctorate degree in Theology by the Institut Catholique de Paris; and received degrees in Philosophy and Theology from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.
He never met Pope John Paul despite dozens of attempts.
