Harold Bloom is an iconic American literary critic, professor and author of dozens of books, including Agon: Towards a Theory of Revisionism and The Western Canon: The Books and School of the Ages. He is regarded as one of the world's most famous literary critics.
He is the son of Paula and William Bloom. He grew up with an older brother and three older sisters. In 1958, he married Jeanne Gould, with whom he fathered two children.
In 2004, popular writer Naomi Wolf accused him of sexual "encroachment" after she alleged that he once touched her thigh. Bloom denied the allegation saying that he had never been indoors with her all his life.
