About Harold Pinter
Harold Pinter was an English playwright, actor, screenwriter and director. As an actor, he portrayed a variety of characters in films, on radio, on stage and on television over a 50-year period. One of such characters is Saul Abrahams in the film “Rogue Male”.
He earned credits as a director for over 50 stage productions. He was very famous for his career as a playwright, which churned 29 plays including, but not limited to, “The Homecoming”, “The Birthday Party” and “Betrayal”.
Family Life
He was the only child of homemaker Frances Moskowitz and tailor Hyman Pinter. He was first married to actress Vivien Merchant from 1956 to 1980. They were parents to his only child, Daniel. He remarried in the same year of his divorce to Lady Antonia Fraser.
Achievements
He was the recipient of the 2005 Nobel Prize in Literature.
Death
He died from liver cancer on 24 December 2008.
