Early Life
Arnow earned degrees from Berea College and the University of Louisville, then spent a few years as a teacher before turning her attention full-time to writing. She took on various odd jobs while writing her debut novel, "Mountain Path", which was released in 1936.
Career
Arnow also wrote other well-known novels such as "The Weedkiller's Daughter" in 1970, "The Kentucky Trace" in 1974 and "Between the Flowers" in 1999. She also wrote some books of non-fiction, including "Seedtime on the Cumberland '' in 1960 and "Old Burnside '' in 1977.

The novelist married Harold B. Arnow in 1939.
Achievements
Arnow received many accolades for her contributions to the literary world, including the prestigious Weatherford Award in 1978 and the Alumnus Award from Berea College in 1983.
