About Harry Carey
Harry Carey was an experienced silent-film actor who was widely considered as one of the most influential personalities of the Western film genre. He is most recognized for his role as the president of the United States Senate in the political comedy-drama film "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington," for which he received an Academy Award nomination for ‘Best Supporting Actor’.
He transitioned from theatre to screen, making his film debut in 1909 for D. W. Griffith. Following his breakthrough triumph, he went on to feature in other highly praised Western films, including "Among the Living," "The Sea of Grass," "The Night Rider," "Roaring Rails," and "Perils of the Jungle"
