In 2003, the American actor won the Black Reel Award winner for “Best Actor in a Television Movie”. He is widely recognized for his role in 1991's "The Five Heartbeats" and the popular TV series "The Blacklist".
Early Life
Lennix grew up in the neighborhoods of Illinois. His father, Harry Lennis, and his mother, Lillian C., supported the young actor through all the phases of his life. He enrolled in Quigley Preparatory Seminary South School and later went to Northwestern University, where he graduated with a degree in acting and directing.
Career
The actor had his big break when he starred in "Keep the faith, Baby" in 2002. Prior to that he appeared in supporting roles in works such as "Comfortably Numb" in 1991 and "The Matrix" from 1999 to 2014. In the former, a film directed by Gavin O’Connor, he was cast as Hamlin Day.
Lennix’s career was further lifted when he was cast in the popular drama series "The Blacklist", which saw him appear alongside James Spader, Megan Boone, and Diego Klattenhoff.
In 2014, the Illinois-born actor established his own production company, Exponent Media Group.
Personal Life
In 2009, he tied the wedding knot with business executive Djena Graves.
