Helen Hayes was a 20th-century stage, TV, and film actress from U. S. She made her first stage appearance at the age of five. In 1931, she acted in her first sound film titled “The Sin of Madelon Claudet”. She remained in the industry for over 75 years.
Hayes was featured in several films such as “The Sin of Madelon Claudet” and “One of Our Dinosaurs Is Missing”. She also appeared in numerous stage plays including “A Midsummer Night's Dream”, “The Prince and the Pauper”, and “She Stoops to Conquer”.

She was educated at Dominican Academy and Academy of the Sacred Heart Convent.
Family
She was born to Francis van A. Brown and Catherine Estelle. In 1926, she married her first husband named John Swanson but the marriage lasted only for two years. In 1928, she tied the knot with Charles MacArthur but divorced him in 1956. She gave birth to two children namely James MacArthur and Mary MacArthur.
Death
She died of heart failure in 1993.
Awards
In 1931, she was the winner of the Academy Award for “Best Actress”. In 1953 and 1969, she won the Sarah Siddons Awards. Also, she was the 1970 Academy Award winner for “Best Supporting Actress”. Additionally, in 1988, she was honored with the National Medal of Arts. In 1986, President Ronald Reagan acknowledged her works in the film industry with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
