About Helen Reddy
Helen Reddy’s career in the entertainment industry began when she was only four years old. The late Australian-American entertainer is most famous for her 1972 hit single, “I Am Woman”.
She also gained international recognition for her numerous chart-topping singles including her 1973 single, “Delta Dawn" and "Angie Baby", which came out in 1974.
Her credentials as an actress include the 1974 disaster film, “Airport 1975” and the 2010 thriller film, “The Perfect Host” – where she played Sister Ruth and Cathy Knight respectively.
Family
Her parents were hugely involved in show business. She was the half sister to Toni Lamond, a cabaret singer and stage actress.
She was a cousin to Patsy Reddy, a prominent New Zealand politician and businesswoman. Her nephew, Tony Sheldon, is a seasoned actor and singer.
Marriages & Children
Her marriage to Kenneth Weate produced a daughter named, Traci Donat. Their separation happened not long after their daughter was born.
She and Jeff Wald tied the knot in 1968. Four years later, they had a son named, Jordan Sommers. The couple got divorced in January 1983.
Between 1983 and 1995 she was married to a drummer named Milton Ruth.

Her first single entitled, “One Way Ticket” was released in 1968. Her maiden studio album, “I Don't Know How to Love Him” came out in 1971.
In 2013 popular Newspaper, Chicago Tribune labeled her as the “Queen of 70s Pop”, which later became her nickname.
She gained her American citizenship in 1974.
Reddy struggled with dementia and Addison's disease during the latter stages of her life.
