About Helmut Newton
Helmut Newton was a renowned German-Australian photographer who has been credited for changing the format of fashion photography. After setting up a photography studio in Flinders Lane in 1946, Newton began his work in the entertainment industry.
His works were mainly used by Vogue magazine. Other publications such as Harper's Bazaar, and Playboy also benefited from his productions. Some of his many works were captioned “White Women” and “World Without Men”.
Family
His original name was Helmut Neustädter and was born to Max Neustädter and Klara Marquis. He was married to Australian photographer June Browne, known professionally as June Brunell.
Death
He suffered a heart-attack in 2004 and gave up the ghost later that year.
Trivia
At a stage in his life, he worked with a button manufacturing company.
He became a member of the Australian Army in 1942.
