Early Life
Youngman grew up in a home of Russian Jews and spent most of his early years in Brooklyn, New York. During that time, Youngman found interest in comedy and developed short comedy cards, which he later combined with his violin for his performances.
In his early career, he was inspired to take up a profession in comedy by his close friend and fellow comedian Milton Berle.
Career
The comedian began his show business in a small Jazz band, where he performed with his violin. Although he practiced his jokes on his peers, Youngman never took his comedy seriously.
