About Henry Fielding
Henry’s funny depictions in his writings have made him popular over a span of time. He is an English dramatist and novelist.
Personal Life
At a young age in his life, his mother died and he ended up with his grandmother. In his teenage years, he got interested in his cousin and tried to kidnap her but when he failed, he escaped from home.
Career
He worked as a barrister and in 1740, he was called to the bar. Even though at the time, he was more interested in theatre work and writing, he decided to focus on law to fend for his family. He kept on writing and in 1794, he released the novel “The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling”. This work was the most recognized of all his works.
Marital Life
In 1734, he made Charlotte Craddock his wife but she passed away ten years later. After her death, he decided to marry her maid even though a lot of people were against it. Her name was Mary Daniel and together, they had five children. He had five children with his previous wife as well but they had lost the only female child when she was in her early twenties.
