Henry Fonda was a renowned American actor whose over half a century career in Hollywood saw him star in several critically applauded films such as 1940's The Grapes of Wrath, 1957's 12 Angry Men and 1981's On Golden Pond. He is considered one of the greatest actors of all time.
Personal Life
He was married four times prior to his 1965 marriage to Shirlee Fonda. He remained married to Shirlee until his death in 1982. He had three children, including actress Jane Fonda and actor Henry Fonda.
Trivia
Upon winning the Oscar for Best Actor at the age of 76, he made history by becoming the oldest person to ever win the prestigious award.
His third wife Frances committed suicide in 1950 after he left her for another woman, telling her that their years of marriage never brought him happiness. Frances’ psychiatrist later referred to him as a very cruel person.
