About Hiroki Kuroda
2005 Golden Glove Award winner Hiroki Kuroda is a former Japanese baseball pitcher known for his strong right arm in both the Nippon Professional Baseball and Major League Baseball.
Early Life
The baseball player was born to Kazuhiro and Yasuko Kuroda. He came from a family of baseball players. He attended and graduated from the Uenomiya High School. Kuroda later went on to enroll and graduate from Senshu University.
Career
Kuroda made his professional debut for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp in 1997 and played with the team till 2007. He then played for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2008 to 2011 and the New York Yankees from 2012 to 2014. Kuroda decided to return after the 2014 season to the Carp to conclude his career. The baseball player chalked up a season record of more than 1,460 strikeouts and earned an average of more than 3.5. He also represented Japan in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, where he won a bronze medal.
Personal Life
Kuroda married Masayo Kuroda, and the couple has two children as of 2021.
