With the ballad "Another Dumb Blonde," singer-songwriter Hoku Christian Ho gave moviegoers something to hum to and contributed to the success of the smash hit "Legally Blonde."
Early Life
Hoku was born to performer Don Ho in the Hawaiian island of Oahu. She spent her early years performing and co-writing music with her father. She was given a $300,000 contract by Geffen Records while she was a student at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego.
In 1999, she was hitched to her manager Jeremy Clements. The couple has three children.
Career
The soundtrack to the 2000 movie “Snow Day” features her debut single "Another Dumb Blonde". She left school and started working on her debut album "Hoku" (2000). The album debuted on the Billboard 200 at number 151.
“The Listen Up” EP, which she co-wrote and financed, was released in August 2008. She picked up music again in March 2018 and put out the EP “Called by Name”, her first ever Christian EP.
Trivia
A string of television commercials for J.C. Penney and Sandals Resorts featured her song "Perfect Day."
