About Horace Goldin
Horace Goldin was a famous illusionist and magician credited for introducing the “sawing a woman in half” trick. He started his performances in 1894 after serving under a popular magician called Adolph Veidt. He was later hired by Benjamin Franklin Keith’s theatre company which gave him the opportunity to tour many cities in the United States.
In 1923, he acquired the patent for the sawing illusion which prevented other magicians from performing the trick. Known to be one of the greatest performers of his time, Goldin entertained some high-profile personalities including King Edward VII of Britain.
Family
He was originally named Hyman Elias Goldstein. He migrated to America from Lithuania when he was 16 years old.

In 1930, he published a book titled “Mysterious Tricks”.
While working for Keith, he made over one million dollars.
