Personal Life
Horacio Silverstre Quiroga Forteza was the name he was given when he was born to parents, Pastora Forteza and Prudencio Quiroga. He had a few siblings and at the time he was born, his father worked as the Argentine Vice-Consulate head but a few months after his birth, his father discharged a gun he was holding by accident and lost his life as a result.
Major Works
Some of his works are “The Crime of Another” in 1904, “History of Troubled Love” in 1908, “Stories of Love, Madness and Death” in 1917, “The Beheaded Hen and Other Stories” in 1925 and “The Chair of Pain” in 1937.
Death
He suffered from prostatitis in 1935 and went for further tests in Posadas where he was informed he was suffering from prostate hypertrophy. Not long after, his wife and child left him. He ended up in the hospital and decided to end his life and suffering thereby drinking a glass of cyanide, which ended his life in February 1937.
