About Ibn Saud
According to history, Ibn Saud was the founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He also ruled as the first king from 1932 to 1953.
Before ascending the throne, he ruled other Saudi states including Hejaz and Nejd. In 1902, he conquered Riyadh and joined it to form the Saudi Kingdom. It was during his reign that petroleum was discovered in the area. He also oversaw the kingdom’s mass production of oil after the Second World War.
