Background
This Virginia-born drummer started drumming at the age of eleven. Influenced by the works of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, he started performing in public places at the age of sixteen.
Career
Smith collaborated with fellow musician Dave Holland and joined the band Holland's quintet where they released their debut album. They followed up their first album with “Pathways”.
Smith released his album “Kinfolk: Postcards from Everywhere” and has recorded soundtracks used for documentaries on Discovery Channel.
