About Ivica Olić
Ivica Olić’s professional career as a soccer player began in 1996 with NK Marsonia, a local Croatian club. In 1998, he moved to Germany, where he did not see much success as a player for Hertha BSC. His second stint with Marsonia from 2000 to 2001 was very successful. Still in Croatia, he played for NK Zagreb (2001-2002) and Dinamo Zagreb (2002-2003). He also played in Russia for CSKA Moscow (2003-2007) and in Germany for Hamburger SV, Bayern Munich, VfL Wolfsburg and 1860 Munich.
He retired from active play in 2017 and landed a job as the assistant coach of the national team of Croatia.
Family Life
He has been married to a Croatian-German woman named Natalie. They have three children together.
Achievements
In 2001, he received the prestigious Croatian Football Hope of the Year award. He was named as the Croatian Footballer of the Year in 2009 and 2010.
