About Jackie Collins
Before moving to the United States from Britain, Jackie Collins worked as an actress in a number of low budget movies. During her early years in the States, she appeared in a number of movies before publishing her first novel entitled “The World Is Full of Married Men” in 1968.
The work received lots of praise from the public and was adapted into a movie of the same name in 1979, which starred Gareth Hunt and Anthony Franciosa.
After recording some amount of successes, she went on to publish many books with the most popular ones titled “Sunday Simmons & Charlie Brick” and “Chances” which featured the Lucky Santangelo character.
Family
She was the daughter of Joseph William Collins and Elsa Collins. She was the sister of author and actress Joan Collins, and Bill. She was married to Wallace Austin from 1960 and 1964. Her later husband Oscar Lerman inspired her to become a novelist. Their marriage ended in 1994. That same year she got engaged to Frank Calcagnini. She had three children named Tracy, Rory, and Tiffany.
Education
She was expelled from Francis Holland School at the age of 15 years.
Death
She battled with breast cancer before her death in 2015.
Trivia
In 2004, she started her own television show dubbed “Jackie Collins Presents” which premiered on E! Entertainment Television.
She was 14 days away from celebrating her 78th anniversary when she died.
