About Jacob Ellison
He came from a long lineage of rugby players. It is no wonder Jacob Ellison went on to be a versatile player who was not afraid to switch positions.
Background
He was the grandson of All-Black, Vince Bevan, and great-grandson of pioneer rugby player Tom Ellison. The latter was captain for the Australia national team. It was inevitable that Jacob Ellison ended up following the family tradition. He attended Victoria University of Wellington, where he would further honed his skills in the sport.
Career
Ellison started his career playing for the Wellington Rugby Union in 2007 and moved to a super rugby club the Hurricanes in 2011. His performance with the Hurricanes earned him a spot in the Junior All-Black for the 2009 Pacific Nations Cup. Ellison left the Hurricanes in 2011 and moved to the Highlanders, but was unable to play due to injuries. He was released from the team the same year.
