About James Callis
Following his graduation from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in 1996, James Callis made his screen debut in an episode of “Murder Most Horrid”. He first garnered widespread attention through his portrayal of Tom in the film, “Bridget Jones’s Diary”, a role which he would reprise in two sequels: “Bridget Jones’s Baby” and “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason”. He is famous for his role as Dr. Gaius Baltar in both the “Battlestar Galactica” miniseries and television series.
Family Life
He grew up in London, England along with two sisters. He descended from Polish and Russian Jewish immigrants. He has been married to Neha Callis since 1998. They have three children together.
Achievements
He was a recipient of a 2006 Saturn Award and a 2009 Jules Verne Award; both of them for his performance in “Battlestar Galactica”.
Trivia
He wrote, co-directed and co-produced the 2001 British drama film, “Beginner’s Luck”.
