About James T. Hill
Despite living a life of fearlessness and perseverance, General James T. Hill is known to have a very personable demeanor. The army officer served as commander of the US Southern Command from 2002 to 2004.
Education & Career
After graduating from Trinity University in 1968, Hill joined the Infantry. He later earned a Master’s degree in Personnel Management from Central Michigan University. He spent 36 years in the military, serving in areas including Vietnam and Iraq, and rising through the ranks from a platoon leader to a four-star general. Following his retirement, he joined the Area Foundation as a board chairman in 2016.
Personal Life
Hill got married to Antoinette. The couple has engaged in philanthropic causes and set up the Meghan Hill Acorn Fund in honor of their daughter, Meghan, who died in 2013.James T. Hill Rank
