About James V of Scotland
James V of Scotland lost his dad during the 1513 Battle of Flodden. As a result of that, he was named the King of Scotland when he was a little over a year old. At the initial stages of his tenure, the affairs of the kingdom were controlled by regents until he was considered matured at age 12.
Archibald Douglas, 6th Earl of Angus, his stepdad, took charge of the throne for three years starting from 1525, after he held the young king hostage. James later escaped and came back to rule the country. He led them to fight many wars including the Battle of Solway Moss
