About Janet Reno
Janet Reno was appointed as the United States’ Attorney General (AG) in 1993, and served in that position for eight years. Prior to that, she was Miami-Dade County’s state attorney from 1978 to 1993. In 2002, she unsuccessfully contested for the governorship of Florida.

Education
She studied at Coral Gables Senior High School before reading chemistry at Cornell University. She was later trained as a lawyer at Harvard Law School.
