About Jason Castro
Jason Castro is an American professional baseball player who made his debut in the Major League Baseball (MLB) as a catcher in 2010 with the Huston Astros. He had played in the minor leagues following his MLB draft by the Astros in 2008. He ended what would be his first stint with the team in 2016. He went on to sign with the Minnesota Twins and played with them from 2-17 to 2019. He returned to the Astros in January 2021 following stints with the Los Angeles Angels and the San Diego Padres.
Family Life
He grew up in Castro Valley, California. Since 2012, he has been married to Maris Perlman, whom he met at Stanford University. They established a literacy program called Castro’s Kids in Houston, Texas.
Achievements
He was a member of the US national baseball team that won the 2009 edition of the Baseball World Cup. He played in the 2013 MLB All-Star game.
Trivia
He missed the whole 2011 MLB season because he received surgery for a torn ligament in his knee.
