About Jason Reitman
Jason Reitman is a Canadian-American film director, actor, producer and screenwriter. Growing up as the son of a filmmaker, he got exposed to the operations of the industry as he tagged along to movie sets. He went on to appear in some of the films as an actor and learned film editing in the process. In 2005, he directed his first film, “Thank You for Smoking”. He has since become known for the films “Juno”, “Young Adult”, “Up in the Air” and “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”.
Family Life
His father is the Canadian director, Ivan Reitman. His mother, Genevieve Robert was an actress. He is the elder brother of actress Catherine Reitman. From the age of 16 to 23, he dated and lived with a woman who was 10 years older than him. He was married to Michele Lee, a writer. He has one daughter.
Achievements
His accolades include the Independent Spirit Award, Canadian Comedy Award and National Board of Review Award.
Trivia
He participated in fundraising for World Central Kitchen in 2020 by directing the comedy miniseries, “Home Movie: The Princess Bride”.
