About Javier Saviola
Javier Saviola came into the limelight in 2001 when he helped the Argentine soccer team to win the FIFA U-20 World Cup. After the tournament, he was adjudged the best player and was also the tournament’s highest goal scorer.
He went on to feature on several occasions for his country’s senior team and was a member of the team that won silver at the Copa América in 2004. He also represented his country at the FIFA World Cup in 2006.
At club level, Saviola played for a number of renowned sides like FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Benfica.
