Music Career
In 1974, Daugherty moved to New York City and formed a band called Mumps with some friends from high school. He met singer Patti Smith the following year and began playing with her until 1979.
Aside from Smith, he also performed with acts like Mark Knopfler, Holly Beth Vincent, The Roches, and Joey Ramoned. He reunited with Smith to play the drums on her Grammy-award winning album “Indigo Girls.” After relocating to Australia in the early 1990s, he joined a rock band called The Church.
