Personal Life
Jean-Alexis Moncorgé was the name his parents, Ferdinand Moncorgé and Madeleine Petit, gave him. His father worked as a cabaret entertainer and was the owner of a café. He schooled in Lycée Janson de Sailly but did not stay in school for long. He left and started working as a laborer before getting into showbiz.
In 1925, he and Gaby Basset became husband and wife for five years before he moved on. Three years later in 1933, he made Suzanne Marguerite Jeanne his wife and that marriage lasted for six years. In 1949, he again became the husband of Dominique Fournier and stayed with her for almost three decades.
Career
His acting dream started when he got a role in the show “Everyone Wins” in 1930 and played the part of Marcel Grivot. In 1962, he got the part of Albert Quentin in “A Monkey in Winter” then in 1969, he was given the role of Albert Raynal in “Under the Sign of the Bull”. It is believed that he worked on his final show in 1976 which was the same year he passed away.
Death
He passed away in 1976 after battling leukemia for some time and because he had been in the military for some time, he was cremated and his ashes were sent to sea in a military ship and scattered.
