Jeremy Roenick is a renowned American ice hockey player who spent over two decades in the NHL. Mostly used at the center position, Roenick joined the league in 1988 as a player of the Chicago Blackhawks.
Before drawing the curtains down on his playing career, he had played for renowned teams like the Phoenix Coyotes, San Jose Sharks, Los Angeles Kings, and the Philadelphia Flyers.
International career
In 1988 and 1989, he played in the World Junior Championship as a member of the United States hockey team. He was later promoted to the senior team and played in many tournaments including the Olympic Games and the Canada Cup.
Controversies
Roenick has been at the center of many controversies. In 2006, it was reported that he was one of the NHL players to be mentioned in Operation Slapshot. He was arrested by law enforcers in 2017 after it was alleged that he was using a suspended driving license.
Two years later, NBC, a network he was working for as a commentator, banned him after making unpleasant remarks about fellow workers Patrick Sharp, Anson Carter, and Kathryn Tappen
