About Jerry Goldsmith
Jerry Goldsmith was an American composer and conductor who became a household name through his scores for films and television shows. Films he composed scores for include “Star Trek”, “Total Recall”, “Rambo”, “Chinatown” and “Logan’s Run”.
He also worked with a variety of acclaimed Hollywood directors such as Steven Spielberg, Robert Wise, Ridley Scott, Howard Hawks and Richard Donner.
Family Life
He was the son of a structural engineer named Morris Goldsmith and a school teacher, Tessa Rappaport. He was married to his first wife, Sharon Hennagin from 1950 to 1970 and then to his second wife, Carol Heather from 1972 until his 2004 death. He had five children.
Achievements
He won one Academy Award, an Annie Award, five Emmy Awards and one Saturn Award. He also earned six Grammy Award nominations.
