Jessica Mauboy is an Australian singer and songwriter who came to prominence after emerging runner-up on the season 4 of the Australian singing competition show Australian Idol. In 2008, she released her debut studio album titled Been Waiting, which produced such hits as Because and Running Back. Away from music, she is also an actress, who has starred in a number of films, including 2012's The Sapphires.

Her debut album Been Waiting was one of the best selling Australian albums of 2009.
In 2013, Herald Sun ranked her #16 on their list of the 100 Greatest Australian Singers of All Time.
