About Jim Boeheim
American basketball coach, Jim Boeheim became a global icon after guiding the Syracuse Orange to win the NCAA national championship in 2003. He was named the head coach of the team in 1976 after serving as an assistant coach for seven years.
He played basketball during his college days at the Syracuse University and was mostly used as a guard. He later played for the Scranton Miners and helped them to win two championships.
Additionally, Boeheim has also served as the assistant coach of the US men’s senior national basketball team and was a part of the group that won bronze at the FIBA World Championship in 1990 and 2006.
Family
In 1997, he got married to Juli Greene and together they have three children. He was previously married to Elaine until their divorce in 1994. Their marriage produced one child.
Achievements
Boeheim has been recognized by lots of organizations for his hard work. In 2001, he was voted as the “USA Basketball National Coach of the Year”. He was inducted into the “Basketball Hall of Fame” in 2005 and entered into the “College Basketball Hall of Fame” the following year.
