About Jim Cramer
James Joseph Cramer, better known as Jim Cramer, has become the television go-to guy for advice regarding investments for some Americans. Prior to finding fame on television as the host of the finance show, “Mad Money”, he had been a reporter for newspapers such as the “Tallahassee Democrat” and “Los Angeles Herald-Examiner”.
He also worked at Goldman Sachs from 1984 to 1987 as a stockbroker and managed the hedge fund firm, Cramer & Co, which he co-owned, from 1987 to 2001.
Family Life
His father, N. Ken Cramer, was the owner of a packaging company while his mother, Louise A. Cramer worked as an artist.
He had two children with his ex-wife, Karen Backfish. He remarried in 2015, to Lisa Cadette Detwiler.
Trivia
He was shortlisted for the 2009 “Time 100” list but he did not make the final cut.
