About Jim Demint
Jim Demint had his first political experience in 1992 after he was included in the campaign team of South Carolina congressman Bob Inglis. As a Republican, Demint was voted into the United States House of Representatives in 1999. He vacated his position in 2005 to take up a seat in the Senate as a representative from South Carolina.
The American politician established the Senate Conservatives Fund in 2008 to help his party’s candidates during elections. He resigned from his position in the House in 2013 to head the think tank organization called The Heritage Foundation.
Family
He’s one of the children of Thomas Eugene DeMint and Betty W. Rawlings. He has been married to Debbie Henderson since 1973.
Education
After Wade Hampton High School, Demint joined the University of Tennessee and graduated in 1973. He later studied at Clemson University.
Trivia
He established the Conservative Partnership Institute in 2017.
This famous politician has also published a number of books with the most popular ones titled “Saving Freedom: We Can Stop America's Slide Into Socialism” and “Falling in Love With America Again”.
