About Jimmy Hoffa
Jimmy Hoffa was an American author and labor union leader famous for being the President of America's largest labor union, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) union. He served as IBT's president from 1958 to 1971. He was sentenced to prison in 1967 after being convicted of a number of crimes, including jury tampering and fraud. Having spent four years in prison, he received a pardon from President Richard Nixon, which came months after his resignation as president of IBT. He mysteriously disappeared in the middle of the 1975. About seven years after his disappearance, he was declared dead in absentia. Up until today, his body has not been found.
Family Life
He married Josephine Poszywak in 1936. The couple had two children: Barbara and James. He remained married to Josephine until he vanished in 1975.
Trivia
The last place he was seen before his mysterious disappearance was outside a restaurant in Detroit, where he was supposed to meet with two Mafia bosses.
It is widely believed that he was murdered by the Mafia.
