About Jimmy Knepper
Jimmy Knepper was an excellent jazz trombonist from the United States, highly recognized as one of the key players in the jazz music world.
He started playing the trombone at age nine, and he entered the music industry at age 15. He played in various groups, performing along with the likes of Freddie Slack, Charlie Barnet, and Claude Thornhill.
Knepper rose to popularity for his diverse and creative playing style especially through his works with Charles Mingus. He worked alongside Mingus on various albums such as "The Clown," "Blues & Roots," and "Tonight at Noon."
In addition he also recorded several solo albums, including "Just Friends," "Dream Dancing," and "1st Place".
