Personal Life
When he was born, he was given the name James Henry Martin. He had a great voice growing up and was a singer at church. He also learned to play the guitar and was good at it.
Career
In 1958, he released “Rock Hearts” and it was a huge hit, landing on the Billboard charts. The following year, he released “Night” and that was part of the album “Good’n Country”. In 1962, he released the album “Country Music Time” before “This World Is Not My Home”. “Sunny Side of the Mountain” was released in 1965. Other albums he has worked on include “To Mother at Christmas” and “One Woman Man”.
Death
In the early 2000’s, he was informed by doctors that he was suffering from bladder cancer but in 2005, it claimed his life.
